Towards a Universal Artistic Language

This cultural exchange enables us, on the one hand, to understand the validity of every artistic style, and on the other the necessity of creating a universal, but not monotonous language.
Each artist chose his own partner according to criteria of an inner affinity based on his own creative ideas. Six Ticinese and six Moscovite artists formed pairs in order to create a common artistic vision based on different artistic styles.
Luca Gansser and Sergiej Basilev are painters. The intense richness of their colours, their urge to penetrate into the mysterious nature of appearances, unite these two artists who, however, differ in other aspects: Gansser’s work contrasts with the ardent violence of Bazilev’s paintings. But this is the very foundation of their cooperation.
